WE MISS YOU

Dear Friend, We are blessed to have you as a member of our church. We miss your presence, and look forward to seeing you soon. After surviving two strokes, the Lord has restored my health and provided me with good people, who keep me on the right path of exercise and healthy eating habits. God is moving in an incredible way at New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church with the Phase II Project, and we are eager to hear your input, ideas, and suggestions. Our vision embraces a Christ-driven liberation and transformation process. Regardless of where you have been, we pray that you feel special here at New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church, and we want you to know that you, and your talents, and spiritual gifts are accepted in our community of faith. We want to welcome you back to the church and share important supportive resources, spiritual, financial, and positive influences from within the preaching and teaching by example, using the Living Word of God. Jesus Christ is the door of the sheep, and based on the Holy Scriptures found in the Book of St. John 10:7-11, it reads “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” (Holy Bible King James Version) Our doors remain open at New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church. There is always a seat reserved just for you. If I can be of further service to you, call me at (812) 430-5651. The best time to reach me is in the early a.m. In addition, feel free to visit our new Blogger site at http://wrbrownjrministries.blogspot.com. Again, we look forward to seeing you soon. Worship Service begins every Sunday, at 11:00 a.m., please know that your families and friends are welcome to join us in fellowship. God Bless you. Sincerely, Reverend Walter R. Brown Jr. Senior Pastor

FROM THE PASTOR'S PEN

Dear Friend,

We are committed to our church family members and to the families of our community.  Our commitment is to teach, tutor, embrace and assist in a dignified manner, through education, respect and most of all, through loving compassion.  Our goal is to achieve our mission through a real partnership with the community, our sister churches and other faith based organizations.  We intend to promote the "Power of Positive Thinking and Living," through our teaching of this truth: that "One can reconstruct life from a negative past to a positive life of change."  Our ministry is dedicated to the concept that positive change can arise out of a negative past, if a person has the desire and support system to make it happen.

It is our vision to build facilities which minister to the needs of our church family and community, from infants, to adolescents, adults and seasoned citizens.  We pray that these facilities will be a blessing to all who will come and participate, as we honor the covenant between church members and the community, while emphasizing the great possibilities of human potential and personal transformation.

We pray that this way of life will lead men, women, young people and seasoned citizens by asking, "What can I do in the service to others?"  We believe that positive change is possible.  Yes, you can change and have a "New Horizon," in your life.

OUR VISION

It is our vision to teach disciples how to discover truth for themselves through observation of God's written word. That we may understand the big picture of ministry and the vision that God has set forth in His written word; for "We are New Horizon Baptist Church, the church where you will receive divine direction through God's taught, preached and written word."

Our vision embraces a Christ-driven liberation and transformation process.  We honor the positive possibilities for human being who are open to the opportunity for change through a Christ-centered life.  We believe this change begins with the love of one's self, the recognition of personal potential for one's self and others, based on mutual respect for one another as we address the psychological, physical and spiritual needs of our stakeholders.

OUR MISSION

To unify families and dedicate our efforts to help people in crisis by any means necessary, to address their spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. (Holy Bible, King James Version)

OUR PURPOSE

It is our purpose to bring people to Jesus and transform them into disciples, according to God's written word. To teach and develop them into Christ-like maturity, and equip them for team ministry. It is our prayer for every disciple to receive divine direction in the Church. For world ministry so we may bring others to Christ.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to be able to lead others through the process of empowerment by helping them make Life-Changing, positive choices.  We want to give and share through supportive resources: Spiritual, financial and positive influences from within through preaching and teaching by example, using the Living Word of God.
